I had an idea..... If a game has no critics then the game cannot become its full potential, and it will also allow the public further advice to the great developers of Simraceway, So i thought "ok ill make a game Critics page(improvement), So here we go... 1. Rules
a.Don't curse, harp,or in any way excessively go on about one particular issue.
b.not more than 4 issues or things you would want to see in the game per post.
c.(+) I used critics because it is a widely understood word... but this is really a Improvement topic!Ohh and be purposeful in your critization. :)
Do not ask or advise about new tracks or cars! that is for these pages:
cars:- http://community.simraceway.com/simra...
Tracks:- http://community.simraceway.com/simra...
Example: I would recommend that Simraceway allow the choosing of a vehicle color in Practice

Yes, drivers should be allowed to vote ... kick, or ban.

I suggest that ALL race events (Quick Races for now) not allow the "INVULNERABILITY" setting. There are many "rammers" or simply drivers with less skill who ruin races... I think in the long run this would eliminate the "rammers" because it would take too much time and effort to get into and start a race only to cause one accident and then be done... At least that's my thought...
-
- Virtual Mirror in Cockpit!!!!!
- Switchable ON/OFF HUD in cockpit
- Quick Races with more laps (oval: 20–30; road: 10–20)
- Events with minimal car setups: Brake Bias, Brake Power
- Better FFB and/or editable controller config.ini
- Best Laps, Last Lap and Total Lap always displayed
- Friends list, setting
- On the Leaderboars list show the assists
- Longer payment list: the 1–30 or 1–50 with less money OR the 10/20/30% of the Event's racers -

3You know... I look at the qr lobbies. Many ppl have to wait a painful three minutes to get them on track. Also how about the ppl waiting painfully to get all the tracks and cars to load up... Well have no fear!! We need slot car mini games in here!! This should provide a less boring time. Who ever wins the race gets 2cr/2rep. The rest of the podium gets 1cr/1rep.
how about an evo slot car for the mini game. ;) -

Being a veteran of both Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo, i have gotten used to some high quality stuff in terms of how the user navigates and explores the game, obviously SRW is not up there with both on graphics but both Forza and GT are way below SRW on physics. while graphics while driving can be quite complex, I think that SRW can greatly benefit from nicer user menus. one of my key issues with SRW is the way the garage is treated. both Forza and GT have 3D spinning car models of the vehicle you are currently looking at, while this is nice, it's not a must. What I do think would be nice is if SRW had all the stats about the car that the others have, I mean HP and torque are nice and all but maybe add in weight as well, maybe even assign rankings to each performance factor (acceleration, top speed, handling, braking) and do something like GT's performance points. maybe I don't want to see my cars listed by manufacturer. maybe I want them sorted by how fast they are, or how long ago I bought them. of even whether they are street, GT's, prototypes or even price. the write up that is already in place under the info page on each car sure is nice but there's more important info that I want to see prior to making a purchase rather than the car's history.
I've also mentioned this and was answered with what I think is a very good answer but a racing school would be great.having an actual racing school at their disposal, making a virtual racing school should be a piece of cake.
I also brought this up through in-game chat but the little icon in the garage that shows whether a car is front rear or all wheel drive should also show engine location. this icon is already a step up over GT5's FF,FR, MR, AWD and RR which fails to show if an AWD car has a front mid or rear engine configuration. in fact having a high quality icon can allow the game to show whether a car is front, front mid, rear mid, or rear engined car with any drive wheel combination allowable. -
One more thing: Longer tracks should give more credits per lap (or shorter ones give less). The amount of credits awarded could also be made depending on the fairness (touching others reduces the amount of credits awarded in this lap, crashing will result in no credits in that lap or even in a reduction of the credits earned in the entire race).
-
I'd like to see mixed races with cars of the same category, for example Golf, Alfa 147, Renault Megane.... et similar.should be very interesting

hi all, im not sure if this has been brought up,in the pit settings i will set my steering lock b 4 practice,b 4 warm up,then 4 get when its race time (lol) is it just me or does everybody have to go through this

We really need virtual rearview in cockpit. Today I caused a wreck because I didn't saw that someone is behind me. It is a top-priority feature and I don't know why SimRaceway didn't introduced it long time ago.
-
In the replays section, I'd like the ability to "send to SRW" right from that window, with a text entry box. Finding the videos and them emailing them is a pita. There have been a few times where I wanted to submit a video to report bugs or horrible driving on purpose but having to exit the game, dig through the directories and do all that was just too much effort.

HUD designs should be fully customisable. For instance, the recent move and shrinking of the lap and split time display pleases some people, but annoys others.
Users should be able to organise their HUDs to suit their own preferences, and not only that, but to suit the different cars they drive. For instance, in the Evo X, probably the most used car on Simraceway, the positions list almost completely obscures the rear-view mirror. Being able to put it somewhere else would help users with their situational awareness and hopefully lead to a reduction in inadvertent collisions.
Users should be able to change the size and position, and even the colour of each HUD element at will, and preferably on a per car basis.
Further, the functionality of some elements should be customisable - the zoom level of the circuit map is an example.

Hello, It's a good topic but I don't know if administrators report our notes. Mines are principally graphical.
1. There is no dashboard lighting when switching on the lights ando n some tracks, lights don't light the track but only the walls or stuffs beside the track !
2. Add rain on the game... with working wipers.
3. Have the possibility to remove in-game speed and rpm counters and keep others informations (lap time, tyres temp, tchat, car condition). In onboard cam, it's sometimes unuseful because there are already in-car counters.
4. Add virtual driver in the car
5. Make events with different cars (For example : BMW Z4 GT3 with McLaren MP4 GT3).
6. Lap times don't appear on replays (I believe they were before)
I would have other notes but these are my principals. -
On practice mode;
when I choose a track that has different configurations (Sonoma long, short, Nascar, Indy 2011; Watkins Long/Short) I would like to see the map of the track changing as well. -
I would like to see a feature where you can buy cars using both cash and credits combined.

3When your in the Garage you get a little tick box for 'My Cars', I would like to see a similar box in Events - 'My Events', this would just bring up the list of current events that you are participating in. -
Car colours. While fully customised livery would be nice, policing it would probably be a nightmare (and while it might result in some stunning paint jobs, it'd also open the door to some real rubbish). What I think might work is if we were able to choose two colours (perhaps from a predefined pallette) as our personal scheme: the main car body and a highlight colour. The actual highlight would depend on the car; perhaps stripes or a particular body panel, or perhaps side flashes... or whatever.

Arrows that point your opponents, like a system used in many other racing games.
When in 50m range the arrow changes colour from green to red and goes around the edge of the screen pointing where your opponent is while trying to overtake. This would prevent a lot of crashing.
Its a simulator ok, but not everyone has a 3 TVs system mounted to be able to look at the side while braking :P -
I would like to see GT class races, bring whichever of the GT class cars you own or prefer and race it. Ford GT vs. C6R vs. Maserati vs. BMW vs. Megane... It would allow folks to race even if they don't own the newest car released and let them see it and then they can buy it as funds allow... Plus some good old brand vs brand and U.S. vs Euro fun races.

4I would like to see car features that cannot be changed or disengaged in real life to be the same in Pro and beginner category. I'm for always racing pro mode because I like the real feel but if you have a car that you cannot disengage the ABS or traction control in real life it seems to me then that you are dynamically changing the engineering of the real handling of the car. I think those things should be real as possible and then for beginner allow a more enhanced version of abs or traction control. I think keeping the option of turning them all off should still be made available in practice mode so you can still experience "what if". This however might not be taken well for those that are more interested in the extra challenge than the real feel which I can understand but this would only affect a small number of cars. I love this game because I can experience cars I never get to drive, I just want to keep that as real as possible. -
CHAMP
6I've just had an interesting idea in regards to new car releases - A day or two before a car is released, post a 'teaser' picture of a small detail of the car on either the community, Twitter or Facebook, and the first person to correctly guess what car is in that picture will win that car when it is released in game. -
Hello!
I have to mention some of the greatest visible problems in your great simulator. Please do not ignore this message! I am a sim-racer for about 4 years and I have to say that your game has alot of potential, but also, it has to be modified in order to be competitive along other great simulators like iRacing, nkPro or Rfactor.
It will be great if the reputation and especialy credits distribution would be redesigned so, they are rewarded by Km or miles raced, not laps. It is not fair to take a 10 lap race on Martinsville in 5 minutes and strugle for 25 minutes on TR for the same amount of credits and reputation. Also you can find a solution and reward us by the quality of our driving and by the dificulty of the car/track as well as distance, as I mentioned above.
Also please consider optimizing your game as I was unable to play it on my laptop, a mid-ranged one, one that plays iRacing(medium), nkPro(high) and Race 07(high) with 30 + fps.
Thank you for reading! -
Maybe can add driving telemetrics so you can review your lap and try to improve?
In event lists, is it possible to view an 'in progress' race? -

5in the graphics options id like to see a low/meduim/high back ground addition,

Clans\Crews with clan racing is a must (in my opinion)

I would like to see
1.) Custom made racing rooms
2.) Friends list
3.) A chat window thats movable and stay on top all the time.
4.) All cars NOT downloadable ( they should be in the installation already)
5.) Not to be rude, but better forums. I have shown SRW_ people a link to clean easy forum. Again not to be rude, but when I look at these forums I kinda feel like I'm in the my little pony forums.
6.) Package deals on cars. Buy 5 cars in 24 hours get one under $7 get one free something like that.
7.) Player levels. level like 1-150 with xp, and you have to level up to buy cars.
8.) Nascar cars and Tracks
9.) Drag racing
10.) Be able to gift players cars. -
I would like to see the Quick Race screen allow you to invite your friends and use more than just the Evo to race, or allow private races to be created with your friends.

3off line practice mode would be a good addition, some times i just want a quick 5 min session whilst skiving(err) taking a break from work. -
what i would like to see fixed is, when you click on event and you click leave it takes you to the very first event. it would be more convenient if it just left to what event you clicked on.. just a minor thing
also i think a replay creator would be cool if we had a spot in game where you could quickly see replays and then edited them and see your race from different camera spots like from the grandstands or air aerial views. could be fun
and to add to that have a contest for the best replay clip or video each month with prizes.. nothing too big maybe like 2 bucks or 1000 credits -

4Menu sorting of Hot Laps and Challenges -
I agree with a lot of the above.
One thing I can add - show time until session ends while you're on track. It helps to know if you're on the last lap or still have time to pit, or slow down to cool tires etc. -
Ok we have all asked the questions of the SRW staff on chat.
But tracks and cars aside, what would you like to see in the final game
I'll kick off and suggest 2
1.Lap times shown with assists or not on the leaderboards
2. Period and car type realistic assists, they never had ABS on a Jaguar E type or 2012 F1 car
What do YOU want to see??

Liveries would be cool
Friend list and private chat box -
My list of suggestions:
1- Liveries... Either some prechoosen/apporoved liveries from various sponsors or
a "paint shop" tool that will allow you to custom paint/decal your cars..
2- Car Skins... a way for people to custom make paint/liveries and a way to upload
them into the game for others to use.
3- Number Plates... you already have the driver plates on the website with times
listed, but have a number plate that goes onto your car. I
realize this ties in with the first suggestions.
4- Track Editor... nice track making tool that would allow for people to design and
upload their own track designs.
5- Race Series... have a series of tracks that are linked in a series that have a points
table. Winner is determined by the overall points winner, not the
guy that wins one race.
6- Endurance Events... longer races either as stand alone or as a series. Would love
to see races like Sebring, Daytona, Le Mans, etc.
7- Team Events....not sure on the logistics of it, but endurance races that require a
team of drivers to complete, including driver changes..ie 24hrs
of Le Mans for example
8- Drivers Championships.... have both a Country Champ...ie a driver from France,
UK, etc that accumulated the most points over their
fellow countrymen as well as a World Champion that
beat out everyone else. -
CHAMP
5These suggestions might only be welcomed by those looking for a bit more realism.
1. Pit row speed enforcement and signal light.
2. Add penalties to black flag rules. -
CHAMP
51. + 1 on the custom liveries. I would settle just for set liveries.
2. Different names for the AI drivers in practice races.
3. Championship events online and offline. Expand on the Indy event, but include different tracks.and different car class events.
4. Auto log on - Hello, it's me again, and again and again.. -
CHAMP
4Here's a few things I'd like to see:
1. Costs of cars "capped" to a certain maximum price - say, $10, to prevent cars from becoming too expensive.
2. Scroll bars in the Practice menu would be very helpful to anyone who has a large collection of cars to click through.
3. Custom skins/liveries would be good to have for a customisation element, especially in live races (like the Indy race) so viewers can differentiate between different driver's cars without the need for the nametags above the cars. -
Great topic!
1. I would love to see night-mode on all tracks, including a time speed-up option. Driving through a day-night cycle is great, but 24h is just too long ^^
2. Some sectors (even some complete tracks) dont light up by headlights, making it nearly impossible to drive at night.
3. Adding extra weather effects (light / heavy rain) would make for some interesting races :)

Hey I just found this on kickstarter and would really like to see some sort of support for this in the future.
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1...
I seriously have so much to talk about with something like this but i'd have too much text to put up.
id just like to show off my main points.
1. sim racers dont depend as much as shooters and other games on full 360 views. the cars do the rotation not the players.
2. with a removal of all visual stimulus of the person's current setting combined with platform specific motion systems, sim racing can become extremely realistic to the point where the next closest thing is to actually get in a car and race.
3. 3d implementation helps out racers more than it does shooters and other game types because it helps racers in determining how far away a corner is.
4. controllers are not an issue for realism with sim racing as we have the most realistic depiction of what is used in real life meaning that realism is multiplied that much more for sim racing with a virtual reality headset than any other game type. (even more than flight sims because for a full immersion, the motion systems required to accurately depict flight are much more complex than those for racing as we dont have as much banking and pitching as planes do, we also don have to deal with being upside down which a fully immersive flight sim might have to do)
seriously, even with a lowly logitch g27, i would still buy a VR headset for sim racing if it was available. -

Really like to see virtual wing mirrors for hood view, like the rear view one.

I want an auto log-in.
One can check the box "remember me" in the log-in dialog. This makes your complete log-in information being already present each time you start the game. But - why do I still have to click the green log-in button each time? This seems a litte stupid.
There should surely be a way to undo the checking of the "remember me" box, but this should be in-game, not in an essentially unnessecary log-in dialog waiting for an essentially unnessesary confirmation. -
-
I would like to see the best laptime of everyone after a quick race in the results screen.
-
-
I need to add funds starting by $5, I don't need $10 as min; I think major players want this
-
-
The option to create mixed car races like the Mustang against the Charger, GT86 and Lancer (for example) is high on my list. I really don’t care if one or two cars have an advantage its just neat to see various cars on the track at the same time. And I hope it will be implemented for racing against the AI too as I personally would rather race against them over those 'pesky' humans.
-
We could have "track days", basically 24h long qualifying session with lots of cars to choose from. ;)

It would also be cool to race an old race car against a modern road car.

In a hotlap session i'd like to see my times not just compared to my best lap in the current session but also compared to my best lap in the event so far.

Being able to see on website number of laps done by each driver and total from all drivers per event :P

Two more things:
1. More split times in longer tracks. If there are many turns between two split times it's hard to determine where you lost or gained time.
2. An equalizer for the cars: If you use the same volume settings for all cars some cars are so loud that you fear you may go deaf and others are so quiet that you fear you may already have gone deaf. -
-
1. Tow to Pit option.
Nothing beats getting punted into the wall only get lose a tire and/or get engine damage and you have to leave the race.
2. Wheel/Gamepad/Keyboard&Mouse Users
Be able to see in the race lobby what controller method people are using.
3. Merging of the Game Chat and the website chat
4. Setting up wishlists for races.
Say I want to do a challenge race, but on one is in that room. Sure I can sit there and wait, but would rather do something else. I can flag a particular challenge as "want to race." Other people could look at a "Looking to Race" screen and see that I want to "race at particular challenge" and then flag they want to as well.
I guess a simple way of "Looking for party" the MMORPGs do.
5. Rewarding for placement in races. If I finish first or last it makes no difference. Sure it could be abused by alien people racing in beginner races, but would need some tweaking. Maybe based on skillquaint.
6. Move things around on the HUD screen.
Some things have already been mentioned. -
-
"WANT TO RACE" in QR's and Challenge events would be great! But make sure that if a user logs off, or even is inactive for some period of time, that the request is deleted.
-
-
one feature i would like to see in the wro livestreamtv is list all racers (leaderboard) over on the left side with intervals, etc. like on regular tv, if possible.
-
-
I would like to see a voice chat feature while racing. It could help in many ways :) Provided that we will be able to choose whether it is open for us or not, it should be a good addition !
-
-
I don't know if this has been thought of or not, but how about an 'aborted shift' as I call it, where if the gears aren't shifted right (clutch isn't open enough or the down shifts are too close) the transmission is automatically sent to neutral. I drive a standard transmission in my truch and have had this happen numerous times, mostly because I shift too quick and don't secure the gear lever. I have yet to find a game that simulates that, and it would be cool (to me) if it was.
-
GT 5 does that :)
It would be a good adition to those with H-Gear shifters -
-
-
-
-
I would like to use Winamp's global hotkeys in-game which I can't right now... Like tuning the radio in the car, you know.
