Launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 2010, the Lexus CT200h was, according to the marque, the world's first full hybrid luxury compact car. Based on a Toyota platform and pairing a Toyota petrol engine with an electric motor, it was hailed by many for its environmentally-friendly qualities. However, concerned that it was missing a trick, the manufacturer decided two years later to release a more performance-oriented version of the car and the Lexus CT200h F-Sport was born, complete with 17-inch alloys, a bigger rear spoiler, more aggressive styling, and noticeably sharper handling. The F-Sport is powered by the Lexus Hybrid Drive powertrain, which consists of a transverse-mounted 1.8-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine producing 98 bhp and an 81-bhp electric motor. In combination they produce 134 bhp, which translates to a top speed of 113 mph, a 0-60 mph time of 9.8 seconds, and stellar fuel consumption figures of 68.9 mpg.
