Released in 2010, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport shows that it is possible to improve on automotive perfection. Like its revered sibling, the Super Sport was developed by Volkswagen and produced by Bugatti with one aim in mind: to create the world's fastest and most luxurious supercar. Despite a remodeled rear and some aerodynamic tweaks, the Super Sport doesn't look a whole lot different from its big brother. However beneath its stronger, lighter carbon-fiber monocoque, it's a different story. For a start, its chassis has been extensively redesigned in order to maintain safety at high speeds -- and it becomes obvious why this is necessary when you dig further. An upgrade to the original Veyron's 8-liter, quad-turbo W16 engine, including the addition of enlarged turbochargers and intercoolers, has added a whopping 197 bhp to its output, resulting in a car that can reach a top speed of almost 268 mph -- a feat that duly snatched the "fastest production road car" title back from the SSC Ultimate Aero TT.
