Schedule

In general will we have three race weekends per month. Every first week of the month is for free practice and/or event development, as we need to test each event and sometimes have Coss change some settings, to get it run smoothly.

Therefore the following monthly plan:

(1st&2nd) 1st weekend - break: no races

(3rd) 2nd weekend - qualification/heat races

(4th) 3rd weekend - sprint race

(5th) 4th weekend of the month - long distance (finale)

If a month has five weekends, the race break between two rounds will be prolonged by one more week, as the numbers in brackets indicate.

Yeah, that third spot in each team may be treated as reserve.

I'm thinking of a way to determine the two starting drivers by a heat race.

About Longstone:

The reverse layout does not fit the Mégane Trophy at all. We'll race the normal direction, starting with the uphill serpentines.

I have furthermore not yet completely made up my mind about which oval circuit to race.

Texas, Martinsville and Ilkaville (tarmac) are the pending choices. Comments are most welcome!

The pointing system will make sure, that both consistency and cooperation among team mates is valued higher, than solo winnings.

Sign me up, please! I'll race, obviously, for Sisu Grand Prix, SGP for short. We will use the McGregor livery.

1. SGP_Tume
2. SGP_Gralfindel
3. bil79 (reserve)

21_Coronel.jpg

Right-clicking the image didn't work as it only brought a pop-up window. ^^ What I did was drag the image on a new tab and copy the link.

P.S. Are there open, partially open, or fixed setups?

Another question as well, what will be the times of the races? I was also wondering if we could do a livestream, and ask someone (maybe Liam :-) ) to commentate.

In response to your question about which oval/road-course we should use, I personally find Martinsville my favourite track because of the strategy that can be involved with it in the long run.

Texas Infield feels a bit...open. But that one is still great to drive on, I did a offline 787B race there before with 30 cars. It was a thriller!

You ask the questions, I reply with answers.

  1. which events for the third round?
  2. open setups?
  3. what further settings?
  4. Live Streams?
  5. race times?

1. One oval and one tiny, short, impossible track.

The third round is somewhat special. We want to show you the potential of the Mégane Trophy on unusual grounds.

A challenging oval, that mustn't feel like a superspeedway is one of those unusual grounds.

The Troyton Karting track should have been the other, but I'm afraid not everybody would have a chance to race properly, as we had people with frame rate issues, every single time, we made a race there.

That's why we're still looking for a good, tight and way too small race track, to feature a time challenge and tie break duels at. Texas Infield is the spaciest of all alternatives. Even more suitable for door rubbing five lappers seem either Sonoma's Kart Outer Loop or Cadwell Park's Woodlands.

If you favour one of these, please let us know, in order to get the best opportunity in on the third round of our Mégane Trophy Tour!

2. Settings for all races shall stay equal throughout the series.

We'll have open setups for all races of the Mégane Trophy Tour.

You may notice, though, that the Mégane Trophy is not as adjustable as your usual GT race car. The gearbox is fixed and there is no rear ARB. Also the limited slip differential does only provide low altering of the slip ratio and to change the front splitter angle, you have to put the whole car at rake, by rising the rear and/or lowering the front end.

Full event proposal for rounds 1 and 2 are hidden behind the next spoiler.

Spoiler

3. We'll race from day to dusk.

Races shall start in the late afternoon, so that the last of each event, the long distance race, will finish at pitch black night.

We're not yet sure whether or not to enable tire wear, but we sure will add weight penalties to the top finishers of each previous race, in order to make the season even more interesting.

4. I haven't thought about the video streaming, yet. Please speak up, if you'd like to volunteer!

5. Schedules are yet to be planned.

Nevertheless, I'd like to copy the race schedules from the Renault World Tour: Act 2, which will make fridays and/or saturdays our race days, in order to not overlay with future SRW championships.

Time of day shall stay at around 18.00h GMT till 20.00h GMT, give or take an hour.

Please post your likings on this behalf, so we may have a chance to find the best for all schedule.

Perhapa starting Qualifiying/Practise an hour earlier if it is a Saturday would suit me personally best.

I don't know about the others.

Raceday

Within SDEv we have got one team mate who couldn't make saturdays and another who couldn't make friday nights.

How do you guys feel about racing on championship free sundays, too?

This way, we would have the sprints on a saturday night and the long distance race on a sunday night with possible live stream. How about that?

Comments, please!

Hello Tiptoe,
I'm waiting the answer of all team mates, but now we're already 4 available. Maybe 1-2 more will accept, so we could divide for example: 2 (or 3 if possible) in the short race and the other 2 (or 3) in the long race.

At the moment our team (NOS) would use:
- NOS_teschio97
- NOS_broz13
- NOS_Giangy76
- NOS_nickola93

As I said, if there is space we'll get all in the same race (maybe divided in two sort of different teams), if there isn't, we will drive divided in the short and long race.
