Built in 1957 near Monterey, California, this storied road course has been a regular destination for renowned racing series, from Can-Am to CART, during its long and illustrious history.

Originally a 1.9-mile circuit built around a receding lake, Laguna Seca’s existence can be traced back to a fatal crash at the nearby 1956 Pebble Beach Road Race, which brought the popular event’s six-year existence to an end and encouraged racers to seek the safety of a permanent track. Extended to 2.238 miles in 1988, this 11-turn course includes the iconic “Corkscrew”, a unique left-right combination containing a punishingly-severe elevation change. Now named Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, the facility still hosts prestigious American Le Mans and Rolex Sports Car series, and MotoGP and Superbike World Championship races.
