Hello to my fellow racers!

You are already aware of all the details, but for the record, here's the actual thread:

Simraceway Race to the Weekend and Sunday Race-Off 55 (A & B )

This is a very special event - our direct tribute to the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen. Please check this link and allow me to give you a little introduction, following the informations that you will find there.

Jaguar D-Type is a real legend of it. First car to win a race in this series at the Watkins Glen International circuit. It did that two years in a row, in 1956 and 1957, both in the hands of American drivers: George Constantine and Walt Hansgen. First race was 50 miles long and then 100 from 1957 for a few years.

Both Sunday Race-Offs 55 follow this historical data. You will get a nice opportunity to feel how it was to be a part of it!

I wish you all best of luck in qualifying and let me know if you have any further questions  ;)

You say for the Hotlap that fuel usage is off, well actually fuel usage is on.

I'm a little confused about the time.  Does the first race start at 6:00pm GMT or BST?  California is on PDT, so 6:00pm GMT = 11:00am PDT.  So I'm guessing you mean 6:00pm BST and 10:00am PDT.

Good points, I will correct. Yes, that's what I meant.

Good race :D Especially vanPanther with whom I fought for several laps....was very fair battle, thumbs up ;)

Sadly the temperature here was pretty high, like 30°C, which made me lose my concentration little bit and thus I made few mistakes throughout the race :(

I will probably not race next sunday because I will be about 300km away in Hodonín where I will participate in a go kart race.. :D :P ....so I wouldn´t make it home on time to race on SRW.

A race was nice, map showing a line of cars staying in contact with each other (in a good way)

car was nice and didnt kill u with slightest error which helped this

i took 70L of fuel and seemed a bit extra from what i had seen in hotlap.... then about quarter way thru i check my consumption and its was way higher than planned for and so i dropped off the first 5 as i started to save so ended up in a gap tween the fastest ones and the following group

saving fuel

it looked like i had saved a good amount so sped up a little

then vanpanther slipped back in some incident

and it looked a bit like he was low on fuel tho apparently he took too much in reality!

so i pushed a bit more and then suddenly near end i was critical on fuel and had to do some drastic saving :P

went to 0 litres in tank on the finish line heh 6th place escape there :)

as of august 1st 2014 i am owed a prize from 7 months 3 weeks ago Sunday, 8th of December, 2013, 11:10AM PST (7:10PM GMT / 20:10 CET)

Fun race on Sunday in B. I qualified on pole with a 2.08.9. On the 2nd lap i did a 2.08 dead and thought I was great and then spun on the next corner  :D Luckily, I was able to recover with some interesting battles. Best of all I finally have a stream of a race I won  :)

Unforunately, all the A guys turned up for once so I wasn't able to join the fun there

Unfortunately I couldn't give you an interesting battle. As you recovered, I looked in my mirrors to see how far back you were and I missed the braking point into the fast right. I went off and barely avoided smashing into the wall as you and dahrec breezed by. Not that I could have held you back, but if I hadn't been distracted by you I think I might have able to stay in front of dahrec.

no problem Clark.... i manage to do the same to Robnitro. Sometimes brakes on this vintage cars, just doesn´t work as it should. I had fun till it last...   have fun next races... OK, i´m off with spreading negativity

Well done guys, it was a pleasure to watch you pay a tribute to this legendary pair, which Jaguar D-Type and Watkins Glen are. Now you get at least a slight impression of how it was to be a race driver back in the 50s  :)

We had no major incidents, also no promotions from B to A, so I didn't hesitate to go ahead and pay them all out. They are patiently waiting in your accounts!

By the way, I will extend the Test Drive Tuesday with MP4-29 by 2 hours: http://www.timeandda... McLaren MP4-29

Cheers and see you in the next championship  :)
