So I wanted a more convenient way to list and compare the cars available on Simraceway, and I wanted a way to track the cars I owned, and more importantly, quickly see which cars I did not own yet so I could plan my next purchases.  So I made a web page that does all this.

It's a table that lists all the cars in Simraceway, as well as the performance figures.  The names of the cars link to the official Simraceway page where you can read the detailed description and buy the car.  The table is sortable, so you can list the cars by top speed or by 0-60 time.  Note that my data corrects some mistakes on the Simraceway pages, so there are a few minor discrepancies. I also added a new category 'Type' that some people might find interesting.

You can also mark all the cars that you own (read the instructions at the bottom of the page).  So now when you sort by top speed you can quickly see which is your fastest car (in a straight line at least :P), and which cars you need to buy next!  The way you save your data might seem odd and unfamiliar, but it has advantages.  When you mark all your cars and press the Update button, the data is stored in the URL in the browser address bar.  So to save your configuration, make a bookmark and the data is saved in the bookmark.  The advantage of this method is that you can share your collection so your friends can see which cars you own.  I provide a button to make a short bit.ly link that is easier to share.  If someone sends you their car collection, just make a bookmark to save their data to your browser.

I just whipped up this page over the last two days, so there might be some bugs, but it seems to be in good shape.  Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions.

Great job! It's a really cool idea to create such web page. Thank you, Kobayashi!

I have a couple suggestions. If it's possible, I would like to have the option to remove the cars that I already own from the list, so that I could compare stats only for the cars that I don't have. Also, I think it would look nice if you put some background on that page. For example, you could take the current Simraceway in-game background (located in your C:\IgniteGT\Simraceway\UIData\Menus\image_assets\background) and use that for your page.

My car collection: 102 cars

Great idea.  I added an option button to put the cars that you own and the cars that you don't own in separate tables.  Your preference is saved in a cookie, so the next time you load a car collection it remembers your setting.

Regarding artwork, I don't want to give the impression that the page is associated with Simraceway, so I don't want to use their art.  Not sure how to spruce it up.

Pretty good! Too bad SRW doesnt publically show car weight and all the other car variables like power/weight ratio, drag, fuel usage, centre of gravity height, downforce strenghts, tyre grip values, optimal temperatures and pressures, pitstop time lenght information etc etc.

If we one day want to have multicar races, then a page like that with all the values would be very neccesary and cool. No reason to hide them, if they are well made :) All that info is very easily avaliable in the carfiles, if they werent encrypted that is lol

Here is an example from like 3 years ago from an rfactor enduracer GT2 league i did.

Very nice work, congrats.

It would be nice that the participants rate their cars by, let's say: physics or looks, to assess their opinion on the quality of the model. The overall stats that come out could offer some guidance on what is worth having for the newcomers, and what is best value, etc

Really nice work.

I think you should add third price table for new progression ladder and for future price updates.

"While we continue to consider our offerings–and talk to our community–we hope these changes represent a welcome addition to Simraceway and make it easier for new users to get into the game. Stay tuned for more changes–and keep the feedback coming!"

That could mean anything.including some price changes on future.

Yeah if there's another wholesale change in pricing structure I will add a new column, but for the Progression Ladder and any similar upcoming price changes, I will just put the new price in the P2 column.

I don't play too much as I've started just a couple weeks ago.

This idea is pretty good, however, if we could organize the list of cars (Alphabetical, by 0-60, etc.)

In the end, great job.

Here's my (very small) collection:
