Top Speed:155 MPH
0-60: 9.8 Seconds
Horsepower: 239 @ 5800 RPM
Torque: 221 @ 4200 RPM
Transmission: 4 Speed Manual
Drivetrain: RWD

A supercharged version of the Bentley 4 1/2 Litre racer that had seen success in the 1928 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 'Bentley Blower' was a none-too-subtle attempt to get what Ettore Bugatti once witheringly described as 'the fastest truck in the world' moving even faster. While more speed was achieved -- in racing trim, 'Blowers' were empowered with 239 bhp -- the project was ill-fated from the offset with the marque's founder and Chief Engineer, Walter Owen Bentley, refusing to modify his engine to accommodate the supercharger, observing that 'to supercharge a Bentley engine is to pervert its design and corrupt its performance.' As if to demonstrate W.O.'s assertions, while his company's new creations racked up a number of impressive speed records, reliability issues stalked them on the track. Their 1930 Le Mans assault ended typically early and was, ultimately, overshadowed by their naturally-aspirated Speed Six siblings' one-two finish.

Please share your reviews, videos, pictures, or critiques about the Blower in the comment section. And be sure to check back regularly to read our very own Simraceway staff give you some insight into the creation of this high-performance machine.

This legend is our today's Test Drive Tuesday car! Unfortunately, we have an issue in Quick Race at the moment, but feel invited to try it in Practice mode.

It's yours untill the end of day on Wednesday and with a 66% discount (save $20).  ;)

Nice review of the 'Blower Bentley' for the Telegraph by Andrew English:

http://www.telegraph...wer-review.html

At the wheel of the Blower you are gradually transformed into a character from those famous Russell Brockbank cartoons and find yourself pondering the advisability of a moustache and, perhaps, a pipe.
