Hi all

Im  in the market for a new graphic card . I would love to play SRW in high settings ( now im on low )

My comp :

Motherboard : ASUS M2N-E  https://www.asus.com...#specifications

Ram : currently 6GB  DDR2 but i will upgrade to 8GB DDR2 800MHZ

Procesor : AMD Phenom 9650 quad core

SSD : San disk 256 GB

Grraphic card : currently  Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 4850 Silent

So my budget limit is cca 200 eur .

Im chosing from :  Gigabyte Radeon R9 270X WindForce 3X OC, 2GB

and         Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 OC, 2GB

Both are under 200 eur . So what is yore experience with this cards or does someone recommend something else ?

THX for comments

The 270x in theory is the better card considering the numbers, But we're talking about srw. srw runs better on Nvidia cards than Amd. I'd go with the 660 because games generally work better on nvidia.

I'm using now ATi Radeon HD 7450 1Gb dedicated, I had previously in the same computer nVidia GeForce 1Gb dedicated too and for me is a crap.. new card and has lasted me two years, now I have ATi since 3 years and still work perfectly, Nice graphics and good filters than the Nvidia.  Another way I prefer ATi than Nvidia is the specs program, at the ATI program, there is more configuration to touch and regulate than the Nvidia and more updates regularly, So in my opinion ATi is your best friend:) but sometimes the ATi drivers failed, it happened me when I'm in the middle in the game, and it appears black screen for some seconds but after works good, a very s**t when you're in a race or qualify, but now with the new updates there are solving the problems, So in my opinion I prefer the ATi :) I hope you sirve this

I use a 660 ti and I am really impressed with it, I can run on high settings fairly well.

Can't say which is better because I haven't compared them but from experience the 660 is a very good card.

Ok thx for all the answers the decision is made .

I went for MSI Radeon R9 270 Battlefield 4 Edition, 2GB    http://www.msi.com/p...4.html#overview

I went for AMD because it sponsors Ferrari   Joke . I dont know why ? I like it more but admit that nvidia for same money preformes a bit better .

It is a good mid range card made with quality parts and it is almost SILENT ! That was very important to me .

It has a built-in screen and video capturing tool named Predator whichcaptures your screen as still images or videos with the push of a button and allows you to capture and record your coolest, goofiest and most awesome gaming moments on your PC  (I know nvidia has that too )

It comes for 180 eur an has included Battlefield 4 game .

And Battlefield 4 rocks because it has al looot of vehicles that SRW does not haw and most of all it has  changeable weather conditions .

Now i haw to wait cca 8 days and then ill make a report how god it is :)

It is home :-)

And it is great !

Now i can play SRW on ultra settings and still get 100 fps . And the best of all it is allmost silent .

I recomend it , great middle range graphics for that  money .

PS veihcles in Battlefield 4 are great and damage moddel too . :-)

ATI also offers multi-screen support via eye infinity technology and MST hub:

But your display port must be 1.2, this is the prerequisite and the video card must be eye infinity compatible:

http://support.amd.c...isplayPort.aspx

NVidia has an equivalent system but far less practical (I mean to use 3 screens for 1 PC)

Your R9 is an excellent choice!

ATI offers easy setup of dual or triple display via eyeinfinity technology and MST hub.

Sole constraint: have a display port (or mDP) v 1.2

More info here:

http://support.amd.c...isplayPort.aspx

R9 was anexcellent choice!

Nvidia has not really an equivalent system, they have a technology but not handy to setup an triple display.

How can I delete my own post ???
