It comprises a 1-mile tri-oval circuit as well as a 13-turn, 1.51-mile infield road course, which in 1991 replaced the original 2.5-mile course that ran inside and outside of the main track. Another major redevelopment in 2011 saw the track repaved and reconfigured and the banking gradients tweaked. Initially envisioned as the western home of open-wheel racing, Phoenix International Raceway hosted USAC Championship Car, CART, Champ Car, and IndyCar series races up until 2005, while the Rolex Sports Car Series has also visited the track. It is currently one of the few venues to hold two annual NASCAR race weekends.

Phoenix is an awesome track.  Looks great!!!

One problem.  The walls are not lofted correctly and the fences are not collidable along with Texas Motor Speedway. The walls are straight up and down, allowing race cars to gain air. Also texas fence is collidable but the fence post are not. On most tracks they are angled inward toward the center of the track.

Due to them being straight up and down and the fence not being collidable cars will launch out of the track racing surface.

Otherwise great tracks.... Really cool..

I have experience flipping over the wall here, so I can agree with stephen02's statement.

A great track with multiple layouts.

My favourite combo here is the Evolution X at the road course.
