Dear Racers!

After replicating real motorsport events like the Indianapolis 500, Silverstone GP or Watkins Glen GP it's time for one that's closest to Simraceway's heart - the GP of Sonoma! Sunday Race-Off 39A racers will face a full distance of 85 laps at Sonoma's latest layout.

On top of that, we are adding a second car from the Simraceway's fleet - Formula 3, which will join Mitsubishi Evolution X in supporting the main events.

Find all of the important details below..

During this session we will also determine if there is a need to replace a driver from positions between 15th and 28th of Race to the Weekend 39 with one from the reserve list, which will be formed by the Simraceway team member, basing on the drivers available at the right time.

8 Laps with the F3 is very few, or this is Quick Race? Why only 8-laps?

I think, driving the F3 is much more challenging than driving the IZOD IndyCar, the latter cannot even spin out...  ;)

I was looking through the sessions posted in Race to the Weekend and seems like hardly anyone is able to do longer, consistent stints. Probably because it's not an easy car after all.

Then there's another factor, which is limited time that we have for the supporting races.

yeah well... always this problems with time and how to run all those races in those few hours, but i must admit. I don´t like this structure. Those 14 the fastest ones have all the fun. And we all know, they are mostly the same 14 as every weekend, and not much chance to qualify there. But yes.... they have full distance race with everything, while the rest of us... must be happy with this short ... almost quickraces. Not happy! A lot of drivers would like to test their skills in races where also some tactics, fuel ...etc. matters, not 10 minutes sprint races!  I know Cossaco doing a lot of work to have this ONLY weekly event in SRW, but we need change of format... or you will always have the same 1 race for 14 top guys, the rest... well...we should be happy and quiet! <_<

yeah well... always this problems with time and how to run all those races in those few hours, but i must admit. <_<

I know, but you have to remember what are we talking about here. It's far from being just a Quick Race. There's TV and there's commentator engaged as well  :)

hell yeah, we need regular championships for more drivers involved. Maybee races spread into two days? Dunno the answer, but i know it´s tough job for just one race planner SRW!

Firstly i think this everoccouring top14 whine is unjustified, every other week we already have SQ groups, and some lower SQ ones are pretty unpopulated. This is just a special event, you cant possibly want 5x2 hour races? I think the game is already very well balanced around all skill-levels, anything else would be discrimination of the guys who actually put effort into getting good and driving faster. I understand everyone wants fun but a 600sq guy and 1070sq player are not equal, one has spent most of his life for racing and getting better in depth, while the other switches on the game when he is bored of playing his shooting and arcade racing games.

Secondly im very dissapointed SRW cant do its payments on time and as a result of that, i couldnt buy the indycar. Would have really wanted to prove myself in endurance racing again (the M23 went wrong in the first lap) and for once there are nice rewards too :P  Knew this time will come at once, and it will come for others too very soon. Maybe is it a scheme, where you hope us to put in extra money into the game to compensate for you delays? Not happening, the effect is the opposite.

The F3 is a superb car, one of my favorite and so is sonoma, but the race is 3 hours eariler than usual (to where i have just made it in time from work) so im not sure if i can make it to this no-prize support-race

Still good luck with the event, hope it will be fun

hmmm, yes. There is, and we are happy to have this, but.... could live without for better race structure. After all.... i maybee watched one my race in replay, but... i might be the only one who rather race than watch! B)

I´m not critisizing you Cossaco. Your work is very much appriciated.... but, after almost a year in SRW, not much changes over this year, exept new releases of cars/tracks and fixing bugs. We would like more. Time to think deeply how to create different championships for different types of drivers and cars.

i was thinking of that, and surely wasn´t thinking about 2h races for lower SQ, but let´s face it. You have maybee 20-30 drivers in SQ 1000-1100 and some 30+ in 900-1000. Those are the ones, who putt their effort in qualys and want to do proper race. Lower SQ? Well...i would probably drop those for SRO races (exept if they qualify Evo!) After all, everyone who drives regulary wil reach 900 SQ in some time.... esp. if they would want to qualify for SRO. So, basicly i would only do 3 races. Evo + B + A! But...that´s just me probably!

to continue...  long time ago i was involved in one of those championships. They had F1 class (like A > 1000 here)..100% races, GP2 class (like B 900-1000 here) with 50% distance and F3 (the rest and open) with 25% of real F1 race distance. That was all... and worked quite some time. But championships should contain 20 drivers....nothing more if we have 14 grid. 6 more if some dropouts on the race day, if not those 6 goes off after qualyfings on the race day which was 2 x 15 minutes (2 x 10 drivers in one session - or all cars if possible?). You can have more championships so everyone could find something for theirself, but you have same 19 opponents against you whole season. No sense trying involve 100+ people in one champs.... like go karts, but it works for that class.

Just my two cents.... dunno how far SRW is to do a step forward!

I think it is a good thing that we have that full length race. of course we have to pay a price and is that we cant have that race plus all the SQ categories running the same day cause there is no time, also, driving the F3 car clean is like holding your breath, everybody can do it, but for how long? that car + sonoma is really hard, all those hills. every single braking point of the first sector is uphill or downhill, i bet that at least 10 of the 14 drivers are goin to spin, crash, go out of track at least once in the race, so 8 laps is more than enought in the F3,

also, the idea of having a SQ based championship sounds very good, and the idea of splitting the SQ groups into 2 days is also very nice, maybe a combination is perfect, but we need to understand that thats a lot of work, and i dont know how is this but the only SRW staff member that i see in the SRO is SRW_Cossacco, thats a lot of time for him, maybe a second member can run something like Sarturdays race off. maybe the lower SQ drivers have theyr races the saturday and the rest have theyrs the sunday. thats a lot of ideas, maybe we can have it soon.

also one Question for Coss, i had participate in 3 SRO so far, and i have won a couples prices, but i havent recives them yet.

the first price was in the SRO evo in Laguna seca, and that was like 3 or 4 weeks ago. there is something wrong? i have to do something to claim those prices? im just asking. cause i hoped to have those $ to buy the indy car for this event.. but didnt happend..

Same here, his constant "tomorrow" is getting kinda old. i wanted the prize money specifically so i could enter this event.

We have to start 1 hour earlier to accomodate all of these races before the real Sonoma GP starts and Liam won't be available for the B race. Any of you guys is interested in stepping in?  <_<

I agree with guyz before me so i wanna see championship races in SQ system. I know its lot of work and time for Coss but this way to go for SRW i hope. 1 race per week in system like in the f1 wanna be lot of fun for all: 24 drivers in 107 or 110% of pole time can participate in the weekend with a 20-30 laps of race (about 1 hour race with 1 or 2 pit stop) That would be really fun! Championship table in forum seems to be good with each race results and standings. Open or half-open car setups with fuel and tire usage as in real life. And would be great if the qualify for the weekend would be available from monday to saturday to find the good setup.

Bytheway this SRW RTTW & SRO system is not bad i love it but the way to go is that all we propose i think.

Sorry if i wrote too much and my english not too good but thats my idea too.

Thanks for read and see u on track soon!

Regards

Nino

I think extra servers are in order and run some races at the same time. I know some wouldn't have liam, but we need more of these races. Maybe have a funnel system where you have 2 or 3 support heats at the same time with the top 4 or 5 from each going through to the final (with commentary) RC car style, but podium qualify instead of FTQ.

i wouldn´t mind if TV commentary is only for A race. It´s the pinnacle of evening and deserve complete coverage. I´m B class guy. I don´t mind if i´m not commentated in my race. I just wanna race! Btw... if you get someone...like Dimitris with postrace reports...is quite enough to cover minor classes.

which makes me thinking. If you have news in game on the right side... which btw are so small fonts, no one bother to read. But, you could add button for SRW news magazine or something. Which would contain news about upcoming races, races reports (championships reports?)...charts with points...interviews...or whatever. It would be a superb add on..but of course, if we only see Cossaco and Phil doing all the work, i doubt SRW have available stuff to edit and publish that magazine. It´s not necessary to do all articles and everything. I´m sure there are plenty of talented journalists sim racing fans who would type race reports. It would also mean, you had all informations needed allready in game and no need to search races in forum.

It´s just an idea... but probably just one of many hundreds ideas which will never appear on SRW....
