I may have the ghetto-est wheel setup! haha

Using an Xbox 360 racing wheel w/ Ebay wireless receiver to get the wheel to work on the PC. I wasn't willing to pay a couple hundred $$ for a new wheel, so being able to use the 360 wheel I already had for just the price of the wireless receiver was a good solution for me.

I had some time this morning and improved my "rig".

watch the "door" on the left side for easy entrance and exit. I am lazy. :P

The gamepad mounted on the right side had a wooden lever which would then use the analog trigger as a e-brake, sadly I forgot to take pictures. I took it down to improve it a bit, I want to put a spring in to make it harder to pull the e-brake.

At some point I want to get better pedals and mount them upside down but the system I got right now is pretty good. The brake pad is modified with some foamy stuff to make it harder.

I replaced the normal DFGT shifter with the one from my long gone Toyota Carina. The car was totaled in a accident and the shifter nob was the only thing I could keep from the car.

Also I did not like the plastic feel from the DFGT, so I put it some clothes on.

On the last pic u see the webcam, I am experimenting a little bit with FaceTrackNOIR. I got it to work in BFBC2 and rfactor, it`s great, the only drawback is I have to light the room up like crazy and when the sun is down it doesn`t work at all. When I have a better webcam all these problems should be gone.

sorry for the crappy pics, but I suck at taking photos :P

edit: forgot one with the door open, atm the seat and the rig are tied together by a cable :D, I am looking for a good used car seat

Well this is the main view of my "rig" it is the end result of a lot of time and money... Even if it does not look it.Okay I had to resize and reduce down to the pedals, which I extended the throttle to the right by 3.5" and padded it for comfort.

I have a G27 with GTEYE Progressive Brake Spring. My computer has a GTX 780 3 Gb vid card 16 Gb Ram, 2 Tb of Storage, 3.4 Ghz processor speed, 3 ASUS VG 248 QE monitors. 2 button boxes.

My ghetto rig. A old 2007 MacPro hacked to run Windows 7-64. Three different sized displays on a Radeon 5770 and a new G27 I got over the holidays.

The MacPro is old, but still fast with 8 Xeon cores at 3GHz. I just gotta jump around to get modern 64-bit OSes on it as it's EFI-32 on the board. I run OS X 10.9 on it when I'm not racing for my development work that isn't related to my job. (Gotta do anything personal on personal hardware.)

Will post pic myself once i get free time, very jelous of those builds where you really sit low and tilted like in a real race car, i just sit almost like in a truck lol. I could tilt my chair by putting some books under the front legs but i have nothing to raise the pedals with

Your the master at ranting when your in the mood, when a race didn't go your way and your blaming it on the setup and over using offensive language. Good job on the kart though, I see you only win with a setup YOU made.

Got myself a Logitech G27. I still have to get used to it, specially with the pedals, as I come from a SRW-S1 :)

Duuuuuuude! You stole my line!

I bought a G27 last week, and I'm coming from SRW-S1 as well. What are the odds of that?

I'm also still getting used to this change and dropped down a couple of SQ points in the last few days, but I'm starting to get closer to the lap times I used to do with the S1.

Here's what my setup looks like:

My SQ: 870-ish

My car collection: 102 cars

My wheel: Logitech G27
